Simply push down with one hands as you pull up the other as shown in the image to create an opening.

Next, attach the anchor to the canopy's leg and slide it to the bottom

Now that your anchor is attached you have two options. Either place a heavy object on the flat surface of the anchor or attach it to an immovable object via rope. If you choose to attach it by rope, put your rope through the circle on the anchor and wrap it around the object.
